Zev Lowe, Executive Director

The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund is excited to announce that Zev Lowe has joined us as our new executive director. In his new role, Zev will help us elevate our strong base of support and community partnerships to broaden our impact in reducing homelessness, hunger and poverty throughout the Bay Area.

Zev comes to the role with a decade of experience tapping the power of technology and data to expand opportunity and drive social change. Starting in 2010, Zev was a founding team member of Worldreader, a San Francisco-based startup that helped bring digital books and the transformative power of reading to 25 million people in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. While at Worldreader and then Atma Connect, Zev was instrumental in securing funding from Amazon, the Gates Foundation and other supporters as he helped grow two startups to global-scale organizations. His varied experience in fundraising, community partnerships and strategic planning will be very beneficial to the Season of Sharing Fund.

Zev is a Pacifica resident with a deep love of the Bay Area. He has bachelor’s degrees in anthropology and computer science from Dartmouth and an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona. He also has been identified as an Emerging Nonprofit Leader by the Aspen Institute.
