Instead of taking your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA and paying federal and state taxes, donate your RMD to Season of Sharing Fund. Every dollar will go towards housing, food, and other critical needs so our Bay Area neighbors can get back on their feet.
To qualify, you must be over 70 1/2 if you were born before 1949 and age 72 after 1949 to make the distribution from a traditional IRA directly to a qualified charity (it cannot be from an ongoing SEP or SIMPLE IRA).
Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this tax-free benefit. Ask a financial advisor at the institution holding your IRA how to make a donation to Season of Sharing Fund through the IRA charitable rollover, which is also sometimes referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
To let us know of your gift coming from your IRA, please download and complete the donation form and email or mail it to Season of Sharing Fund. You can also use FreeWill to help you plan for all of your non-probate assets.

When we meet the moment, we stabilize a person or family that could otherwise spiral downward.
